Dona Sarkar | Advisory Board Member
Dona Sarkar wishes she’d been born as a cat so she could have had nine lives. Since that didn’t work out, she decided to live nine lives in this one. She spends her days making holograms at Microsoft, celebrates diversity in STEM fields as a fashion blogger at Fibonacci Sequins and is an aspiring fashion designer.
She also is the published author of three novels How To Salsa In A Sari, Shrink To Fit and Haute Date all from Harper Collins' Kimani Tru line, as well as a non-fiction career acumen book You Had Me At 'Hello, World' from Quill and Pen Publishing.
Out of all of these, her No. 1 passion in life is helping people achieve career and life goals, and Dona has been in love with I Want Her Job since day one because of this shared value. She feels very fortunate to have been featured in a two-parter talking about both work and life.
She lives in Seattle with her really patient husband and a very bossy grey tabby named Ash.
Jorge Andres Mondaca | Advisory Board Member
From compiling golf results in tournaments around the world, to covering NASCAR’s biggest races in locales like like Daytona Beach, Fla., and Talladega, Ala., to most recently managing on-site coverage of the last two Olympics in London and Sochi, Jorge Andres Mondaca has had diverse experiences throughout his professional career.
But then, his life has been littered with diverse experiences, as evidenced from his upbringing in Venezuela, New York and Florida, to university and beyond. In college, he majored in business rather than journalism to give himself a broad base of knowledge. Nobody starts a career at the top, and being a “Swiss Army knife” benefited him greatly upon entering journalism. He started with an internship at Golfweek magazine and then worked for International Speedway Corporation (parent company of Daytona International Speedway and 11 other NASCAR racetracks), writing for their news website and for their race day programs.
Those opportunities opened the door to FOX Sports, where he managed the NASCAR section front for their website. Once at FOX, Jorge's bosses encouraged him to jump into new projects — most notably using his business background to serve as an editorial liaison to sales.
This background positioned him to manage FOX Sports’ coverage of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, which delivered record-breaking traffic numbers, video consumption and advertising revenue. His next high-profile project was the execution of our coverage for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, which provided multimedia content for all of FOX Sports’ media partners — including web, radio and their newly created FOX Sports 1 television network.
